Pernigotti is a historic brand

For over 160 years, Pernigotti has been committed to producing products of the highest quality, with great craftsmanship and carefully selected ingredients. For this very reason, Pernigotti has been officially recognised by the Ministry of Economic Development as a “Historic Brand of National Interest”, an acknowledgement granted only to brands that have shaped, and continue to shape, the history of Made in Italy. This recognition marks the culmination of the rebirth of this historic company, which has returned to its roots and to the city where it all began: Novi Ligure.

It was right in the centre of this city that, more than a century and a half ago, in 1860, Stefano Pernigotti opened a grocery shop which, over the course of its history, would become one of the most prestigious companies in the confectionery sector and receive important awards, including the “Diploma di Gran Premio” at the National and International Exhibition of Turin.

But the date that, more than any other, marked Pernigotti’s history is 1927, the year in which production began for the first time of the iconic upside-down boat-shaped chocolate: one of the most beloved symbols of Piedmontese chocolate tradition in Italy and around the world the Gianduiotto.

And it is precisely from the Gianduiotto, the company’s flagship product, that Pernigotti starts again: the historic gold colour of the wrapper gives way to copper, which, together with the new logo, forms the brand’s new identity. Another innovation is the reinterpretation of the old recipe, which now uses only Italian hazelnuts. Because there are many ways to make chocolate, but what makes you fall in love with a flavour is the magic that combines expertise, recipe, and the finest-quality ingredients. Since 1860, Pernigotti has had its unmistakable secret, making its gianduia, today, as in the past a symphony of beauty and goodness.
